I’ve spent the past 25 years of my life in this industry, and I’ve seen every kind of salon environment — the ones that run like a well oiled machine, the ones that feel like a family, the ones that sit somewhere in the middle, the ones that suffocate creativity, the ones that thrive on chaos, and the ones that truly elevate stylists to their best.
I believe to my core that this is one of the most beautiful industries on the planet to be a part of, and all of the different models and environments make it what it is. They all have a place, and they are all amazing in their own ways. One isn’t better than the other, and there’s a home for us all to thrive.
This round for me…something big shifted.
Although my days of micromanaging are done, my days of building with amazing people are not.
